MUMBAI--ICICI Bank Ltd., India's largest private-sector lender, Monday reported a 2.4% rise in its fiscal second-quarter profit thanks to lower tax expenses, surprising analysts who had expected profit to decline.

It operates through the following segments: Retail Banking, Wholesale Banking, Treasury, Other Banking, Life Insurance, and Others.
